"Born to Die" is the second studio album and major-label debut by American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey. Released on January 27, 2012, through Interscope Records and Polydor Records, it was reissued as "The Paradise Edition" on November 9, 2012, with new material also available on a separate EP titled "Paradise".

The album explores themes of love, sex, and drugs, and is marked by its references to 1950s and 1960s Americana. "Born to Die" was the fifth best-selling album worldwide in 2012 and, as of 2023, became the second album by a female artist to spend over 500 weeks on the US Billboard 200, where it peaked at number two. It also topped the charts in Australia and several European countries, including France, Germany, and the UK.

"Born to Die" was supported by four additional singles: "Blue Jeans," "Summertime Sadness," "National Anthem," and "Dark Paradise." "Summertime Sadness" achieved significant success, reaching number six on the Billboard Hot 100 and becoming Del Rey’s highest-charting single in the US at that time. While the album received mixed reviews upon release, it has since been celebrated by publications such as The Guardian and NME, and has contributed to Lana Del Rey’s status as a cult figure among music fans.
